Embracing Authenticity in 2024
Hello Beautiful Souls,
As we step into 2024, I am thrilled to share a profound shift in perspective that has changed my approach to being online.
For the longest time, I grappled with the notion of putting myself out there on social media, feeling it came across as "salesy." Toward the end of the year I mentioned to my husband that we could each choose a Word for the Year. He got his right away but I didn’t, so I asked him to wait to share until I had one. As I meditated on this, what I heard was that one Word cannot express the sense of motion that would keep me inspired. So then I asked myself, what phrase might work for me. Immediately my phrase for 2024 came in for me – “authentically creating and publishing” – and is guiding all my creative expression.
This phrase has ignited a newfound enthusiasm within me to step out of my comfort zone and share more of my journey, experiences, knowledge and wisdom. I've come to realize that social media can be a canvas where I can creatively contribute to the collective well-being.
Sharing from my heart . . .
Today, I want to take a moment to share a piece of my heart with you. This morning, as the sun highlighted my desk and my dad's clock ticked away, I found myself in the present moment. I wrote a poem that reflects this appreciation for the NOW – for being right here, right now.
Taking My Time
Morning sun highlighting my desk
Dad’s clock tick tick ticking
This is the NOW
Right here, right now.
Time to decide which action to take
The Not Here, Not Now
Things To Do
Rise within me and up my spine.
Eyes closed, warm sun on my
Hand and arm
Pulling me back to the
Sounds of clicking, the NOW.
What shall it be?

Allowing a Shift of Perspective
This poem encapsulates the essence of my journey – the struggle between the demands of daily life and the beauty of being present. It's a reminder that in the midst of our busy lives, we have the power to choose between “Things To Do” or “Me.”
